Ingredients

  • 5 lbs pork spare ribs
  • 1/2 Soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp peppercorns
  • 1 onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Brown the ribs in oil and set aside.
  2. Saute onions and garlic.
  3. Place ribs back in pan and add water, soy sauce, bay leaves, and peppercorns.
  4. Bring to a boil and reduce to low, cover and let simmer for 40 minutes. Ensure the liquid doesn't evaporate, add water if needed.
  5. When meat is tender add vinegar and sugar.
  6. Simmer for another 15 minutes.
